WARREN - Joseph Stephen Panak, 56, of Warren, passed peacefully Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Known to his family as Steve, he was born in Warren on June 27, 1957, the son of Joseph G. and Rena K. Hess Panak.
Steve obtained his formal education in the Newton Falls school system, graduating in 1975 from the Newton Falls High School. He had been employed by Warren Fabricating for the past 21 years.
He was always a dedicated and hard worker who was always willing to help anyone in need. In addition to taking care of his mother's and sister's yards, Steve would often mow the yards and repair fences of the foreclosed properties in his neighborhood.
Steve loved to boat and fish and was at his happiest boating down the Mahoning River.
Cherished memories of Steve will be carried on by his mother, Rena of Warren; his sisters, Joey Archuleta of Rio Rancho, N.M., Anna Jones of Warren and Sherry Stowe of Niles; and his aunt, Helen King of Lost Creek, W.Va. He also is survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Steve was his father, Joseph G. Panak.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gordon Ferguson officiating.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
