MOOD DISORDER SUPPORT GROUP EXPANDS TO TRUMBULL: Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance groups are open to anyone who is diagnosed with a mood disorder, has a family member or friend who is diagnosed, or who thinks they might have depression or bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression).
DBSA support groups are not run by professionals. The groups offer peer-to-peer support which is an important component of recovery from mental illness for many people.

AREA AGENCY ON AGING II ENCOURAGING REVIEW OF COVERAGE: Open Enrollment began for Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans and Area Agency on Aging 11 is encouraging Medicare beneficiaries to review their coverage to meet their individual needs.
Open Enrollment runs through Dec. 7, 2013. This is the time when everyone with Medicare can join or change their health and prescription drug plans for 2014. Any changes will take effect Jan. 1.
Medicare Benefits Checkups are offered for free by appointment with a long term care consultant from the Area Agency on Aging 11 by calling 330-505-2300. Plans also can be viewed and selected for those who are computer savvy at www.medicare.gov. FLU SHOTS OFFERED AT MYCAP: The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership and the Walgreens at the corner of Gypsy Lane and Belmont Avenue in Youngstown are providing flu shots from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 21, at the MYCAP office, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
Individuals who live in Mahoning County and who are 14 years of age and older are eligible to receive their shot. Each person should bring valid identification, private insurance card and, if applicable, the correct co-payment; and a public insurance card, such as the Ohio Medicaid or Medicare card. Vouchers to offset the cost of the flu shot are available to the first 100 people who do not have any medical health insurance coverage.
People do not need to make an appointment ahead of time, but they should bring the necessary documentation so they may move through the process quicker.
