NILES - Mary Alice Zucco, 63, passed away peacefully at 9:39 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a four-year illness.
She was born May 31, 1950, in Warren, the daughter of Thomas H. and Mary E. Stephens Holbrook, and has lived in Niles all her life.
Alice was a 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a member of the Niles Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, crafting and especially spending quality time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband James P. Zucco, whom she married on April 30, 1969; son, Joe (Lara) Zucco of Niles; stepson, Michael (Malissa) Magda of Sugar Hill, Ga.; her mother, Mary Holbrook, sister, Bonnie (James) Sarber, and brother, John (Nicole) Holbrook Sr., all of Niles; eight grandchildren, Brooke and Hannah Zucco, Alex Lipp, Katelin and Mikayla Smith, Mike, Amanda and Gracie Magda; great-grandson, Christian Magda; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her father on Dec. 30, 1977; brother Henry Thomas Holbrook on Oct. 5, 1998; sister Carol Jean Madsen on June 22, 2010; and her grandparents.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, where the funeral will follow at 7 p.m.
A private burial will be at Kerr Cemetery.
