Liberty man faces threat charge in Atlanta
AKRON - Marcus Aaron Scissum, 32, of Liberty, will be sent to Georgia, where he will face federal charges alleging he called CNN in Atlanta and threatened to place bombs at various locations on Sept. 11.
Scissum waived a detention hearing Monday in U.S. District Court here.
Struthers man accused of attempted murder
YOUNGSTOWN - A Struthers man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that he attempted to kill his wife during an October rampage inside the couple's Parkway Street home.
Brian Myers, 26, entered the plea during an arraignment in Mahoning County Court. His $65,000 bond was continued and he is due back in court Dec. 9, according to Tribune Chronicle news partner WYTV 33 News.
Myers is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, kidnapping and endangering children in connection to a Sept. 27 attack on his wife.
According to police reports, Myers became enraged with his wife over an "improper tax filing." Myers allegedly threw the family's pet dog across the room, held his wife at gunpoint and shot a rifle inside a home where their 10-month-old daughter was sleeping.
Myers took the girl from the home and went to his parent's house in Boardman where he was arrested.
Howland residents get aggregation program
HOWLAND - Howland Township residents are being offered a gas aggregation program beginning in December 2013 to November 2014 billing cycle with Constellation Energy.
The price is $4.49 per thousand cubic feet.
Howland officials said to receive a rate they need to call 800-718-1493.
