I stopped by the Warren Trumbull County Public Library the other day and glanced through the items for sale on the shelves in the entrance way and came across a small Bible. It was the pocket-sized kind, the ones that are freely distributed by The Gideons International.
I'd been wanting one of these for some time now for handy reference.
It was priced at 50 cents, although on the inside cover it clearly states in all caps, "THIS BIBLE NOT TO BE SOLD."
That's when I had a Matthew 22:21 flashback.
Being that the library is a publicly funded entity, I hastily (and happily) plucked two quarters from my pocket and did "give back to Caesar what is Caesar's."
