HOWLAND - Rose Kathryn Burless, 96, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the residence of her daughter, with whom she made her home.
She was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Cranes Nest, Va., the daughter of August and Barbara Varga.
Rose was a 1935 graduate of Point Marion High School in Pennsylvania.

Rose had been the organist and soloist for St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Pennsylvania for 40 years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the 55 Plus Club at St. Pius X Church.
Rose is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (Michael) Delaquila of Howland, Alana "Bernie" (Peter) Orfanos of Warren and Christina (James) Campbell of Howland; two grandchildren, Roxanna (Michael) Rubinic of Columbus and Michael (Olivia) Delaquila of Howland; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Ben Rubinic; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. Burless, whom she married Aug. 4, 1943, and who passed away Sept. 17, 1972; and one brother, Gady Varga.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating.
Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in Point Marion Endowment Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
