CEMETERY ASSOCIATION RECORDS INFORMATION: The Newton Township Cemetery Association is continuing to record cemetery gravestones until inclement weather in the seven cemeteries of Newton Township. Information from this project is being compiled in a database at the Newton Township administration building. Work with the Lutheran and Wilderson cemeteries is nearing completion.
Election of 2014 officers will take place at the next meeting on Nov. 21 at the Newton Township administration building on Newton Falls-Bailey Road.
PRAISE TEAM FUNDRAISER: The Praise Team of Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will host a benefit and silent auction from noon to 3 p.m. Nov 3. The event will raise funds for medical expenses of Praise Team member Sue Brinkman Drewette who is battling leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Drewette is a retired teacher who taught in Warren Schools for 31 years. Donations can be made to Sue Brinkman Drewette Benefit, P. O. Box 3554, Youngstwon, OH 44513.
STUDENTS CONDUCT FOOD DRIVE: As a service project, the junior and senior high students of North-Mar Church's Battalion No. 1180 are conducting a food drive for the Warren Family Mission through Nov. 24. Canned and dry, non-perishable foods can be dropped off inside the lobby doors of North-Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren, on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. or by delivering food items to the church gym on Sundays. Collected items will then be used by the Warren Family Mission for boxed food handouts as well as two Thanksgiving meals at the mission.
BINGO EVENT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR TOY DRIVE: Project Be Somebody will host a family bingo event from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Leavittsburg. Doors open at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the event will fund the food pantry and Christmas toy drive.
SURGEON TO SPEAK AT MEETING: Dr. Gregory S. Huang, a trauma surgeon at St. Elizabeth Health Center, will be the featured speaker during the next meeting of the Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group.

SAFETY SCHOOL HELD: Tod's Crossing Senior Safety School is held Fridays each month through December. The graduation ceremony will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 6.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY SEEKS PROGRAMS: Brookfield Historical Society is looking for programs for the 2013-14 year. Suggestion have included an architectural scavenger hunt of the historical district done indoors from photographs, history of the fire department, history of service organization and history of the Sharon Steel Hoop Co.
The next meeting is 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at the township hall.
NORTH OHIO ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. S.W., Warren, is hosting the 132nd Session of the North Ohio Annual Conference. The event, which begins Saturday and goes through Nov. 9, has the official opening worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 5. All are welcome to attend.
