WARREN -- Mayor Doug Franklin, flanked by family members of Richard C. Rollison IV, who was murdered on the city's west side early Saturday morning, called for calm in the wake of recent violence.
Franklin was speaking at a City Hall new conference that he held this morning.
Those participating in the news conference revealed that Vincent Peterson, a local probation officer, pastor and athletic coach, convinced Rollison's friends to not retaliate. Tashawn Walker, a suspect in Rollison's murder, was arrested in Texas. Walker's brother, Taemar, was shot dead by a Warren police officer a week earlier. Taemarr Walker was reportedly on his way to II Hype Lounge for commit a drive-by shooting.
Franklin said, ``I'm asking everyone to help stop the violence.'' He said the loss of two lives and misinformation through social media caused high emotions in the city and panic in local high schools.
