WARREN -- People at the scene of an early Saturday morning shooting can be heard telling the 24-year-old wounded man not to go to sleep, to "keep breathing" and to "keep talking."

Dashboard camera recordings from one of the Warren police cruisers at the scene revealed that Richard C. Rollison IV identified Tashawn "Boo" Walker, 26, as the man who shot him in the parking lot of the of the Sunoco gas station at 805 W. Market St. just before 1 a.m.

The video, released by city police to the Tribune Chronicle on Tuesday after a public records request, reveals the aftermath of the shooting, including conversations between a dying Rollison and city police.

Rollison replied "No" when a police officer asked him if he was "having a beef with this guy?"

Rollison was initially taken to St. Joseph Health Center in Warren but transferred to St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Youngstown, where he died.

Still unclear on Tuesday, however, was whether police believed Tashawn Walker drove Rollison's vehicle from the gas station, if Rollison was as his father told reporters in the wrong place at the wrong time or if the shooting is related to an incident at a bar in Warren Township around the same time.

"We do have a suspect and he has been arrested, but we're still investigating," Warren Police Lt. Jeff Cole said Tuesday afternoon.

Read more about the investigation in the Wednesday Tribune Chronicle, and check back early in the morning, when dash cam video will be posted on this site.
