VERNON - Julius Ragalyi Jr., 82, passed away after an extended illness, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Gustavus, a son of Julia (Szabo) and Julius Ragalyi, Sr.
Mr. Ragalyi was a 1948 graduate of Gustavus High School and was a lifelong resident until moving to Vernon in 2008.
On June 27, 1950, he married Lois Joan Arnio.
He worked for the former Copperweld Steel in Warren for 38 years and worked as a crane operator, electrician and finally a maintenance inspector until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Ragalyi was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church, the Mecca Moose and was a member of the Wednesday's Senior Bowling League.
He enjoyed reading, bowling, farming and growing roses.
Mr. Ragalyi is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael A. Ragalyi; two sisters, Ethel Rayner and Margaret Klare-Ragalyi; and two brothers, Elmer and Zoltan Ragalyi. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lois J. Ragalyi; a son, Julius Ragalyi III of Belton, Texas; a daughter, Suzanne A. (Barry) Moore of Vernon; four grandchildren, Jay, Charlotte, Travis, Erin; two stepgrandsons, Chuck and Kenny and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Baumgardner Funeral and Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with Pastor Karen R. Cico officiating.
