On March 10, 2011, we got two siblings from Trumbull County CSB. From day one we were told if they didn't reunify we would be given the first chance to adopt these siblings.
As time went on, we went to court. The agency got custody of the younger sibling first, because dad didn't sign off on the older one until later. We were told by CSB's lawyer that once the paperwork came back, we could start the adoption process.
In a short time later, we were asked to wait until the paperwork for the older sibling was processed, that way they can be done at the same time. We agreed.
After a period of time we got a phone call from CSB to have a meeting - this was on a a Friday. So we went to this meeting and were told the boys would be leaving us and going to another foster home.
We had several meetings to try to keep the siblings. But CSB was very adamant about the siblings leaving. We told them we were lied to all along. But to hear it from the director we weren't lied to - we were "misled." Really? What's the difference?
