COLUMBUS - Mary Alice Green Martinec, 77, formerly of Kinsman, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 5, 2013, at Woodlands Assisted Living Facility, Columbus.
She was born Aug. 28, 1936, in Warren, the daughter of Edward and Rosemary Kiepper Green. She was raised by her uncle and aunt, Ralph and Marion Green Kiepper.
Mary retired from Tod Children's Hospital in Youngstown as an LPN in 1993.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kinsman, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies.
She married Donald M. Martinec Sr. on Nov. 30, 1957. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2007.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Carabin of Reynoldsburg and Mary Beth (Dan Carty) Martinec of Bozeman, Mont.; a son, Patrick (Maggi Brown) Martinec of New Weymouth, Mass.; a grandson, Andrew Carabin of Reynoldsburg; six sisters, Regina Speaker of Champion, Cat Hanes of Cortland, Michael (Tom) Davies of Tenecula, Calif., Bobbie Kay (Frank) Greigo of Richmond, Calif., Denise Nash of Harbor, Ore., and Susan (John) Adgate of Warren; a sister-in-law, Pat Martinec of Poland; a brother-in-law, Jack (Paula) Martinec of La Grange, Ga.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Martinec Jr.; an infant daughter, Mary, three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank the awesome staff at Woodlands Assisted Living and Senior Independence Hospice for the kindness during their mother's stay.
A funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6397 state Route 87, Kinsman.
Burial will be in Kinsman Cemetery.
