A member of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown, in the weeks before her death she was gearing up to volunteer for Hillary Clinton.
In her 86th year of life, Dorothy began volunteering at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren and joined "Silver Sneakers" at her local gym. She was always learning, making new friends and having new adventures.
Dorothy was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles. A 1944 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Dorothy worked at local grocery stores like Kroger and A&P. Later in life, she worked at McKinley Federal Savings & Loan and for Dr. George Mokris.
She married Arnold A. Danes on Valentine's Day 1953 and together they worked hard to provide a good life for their three children. Arnold preceded her in death in May 2012.
