WARREN - Vesta Adell Higley, 99, passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.
Vesta was born April 19, 1914, the daughter of the late Stella Lawrence and Samuel H. Wolf in Trumbull County, and was a lifetime area resident.
She attended Braceville High School and Bliss Business College in Columbus. Vesta had worked as a secretary for several business executives in Warren and was the supervisor of the admitting office at Warren General Hospital, retiring after 10 years in 1975.

Vesta married her late husband, Ned H. Higley, on Nov. 20, 1940.
Vesta was a 65-year member of the Morning Light Chapter 80 OES, with a dual membership in Opal Chapter 181 OES (served as past Worthy Matron of both), Progress Court 22 Order of Amaranth in Niles (Past Royal Matron), Trinity White Shrine of Jerusalem 42, Pythian Sisters 185, three-time past president of the Trumbull County Easter Seals Auxiliary and past president of 50 Plus Club at Central Christian Church.
She was a member of the Cortland Homemaker Society and Warren Republican Women's Club, was past president of the Cortland Junior Liberty Guild and volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Services. Vesta was also a member of Howland United Methodist Church and served as past president of the Women's Society, was a former church board member and member of the "Cheers" group.
Vesta is survived by her daughter, Ruth Higley of Austin, Texas; a brother, Earl Wolf of Southington; a son-in-law, William Bretnall of Avon Lake; and many nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
Vesta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 39 years, Ned H. Higley; a daughter, Dorothy H. Bretnall, and six sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at Howland United Meth-odist Church, where calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. The Order of the Eastern Star, Morning Light Chapter 80 OES will conduct a service in Vesta's honor at 11:15 a.m.
Burial will be at Braceville Township Cemetery.
