WARREN - William W. Seekins, 82, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born in Warren on Feb. 4, 1931, a son of George Seekins and Mary-Lucille Ryan Seekins.
William was a Howland High School 1949 graduate and U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for Local 573 as an electrician for many years before retiring in 1993. During his time at Local 573, he served as a business agent for many years.
William was a member of The Living Lord Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the Howland Kiwanis, Howland Athletic Club, American Legion and the VFW.
He also was an umpire and coach with baseball and was instrumental in starting the Howland High School football program.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Seekins, whom he married Oct. 19, 1991; four children, William "Huck" Seekins, George "Mick" Seekins, Suzanne (Mike) Johnson and Jon (Kathy) Seekins; his five stepchildren, John Mamula, Marti (Chuck) Bergana, Rochelle (Tim) Gallo, Kevin (Lisa) Mamula and Danielle (Fred) Noday; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Anne Seekins; and his sister, Georgeann Seekins.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren, OH 44483. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service.
