NILES Sadie E. Bayowski, 95, formerly of Coitsville, passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles.
Sadie was born Dec. 17. 1917, in Heilwood, Pa., to Benjamin and Stella Putnicki Petrosky and was the second oldest of five children.
Sadie married Emil Eugene Bayowski on June 21, 1941. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1998.
In 1927, Sadie moved to Warren with her family. After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School, she worked at Trumbull Lamp.
Sadie was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, where she helped with making pirohy and was secretary for the Mother's Club. She also was a member of Coitsville Senior Citizens, William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society, Coitsville Historical Society, Coitsville Garden Club, Coitsville Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary and honorary member of Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club. Her favorite pastime was in the kitchen, cooking.
Surviving are her sons, Eugene M. (Louise) Bayowski of Austintown and David L. (Terry) Bayowski of Mineral Ridge; grandsons, Wayne and Brian Bayowski of Pennsylvania; a brother, Eugene R. (Teresa) Petrosky of Champion; sister-in-law, Betty Petrosky of Niles; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are, besides her parents, two sisters, Mary Bayowski and Clara Petrosky; and a brother, Joseph Petrosky.
The family wishes to gratefully thank the staff of Shepherd of the Valley in Niles for their care and concern for our Mom and Hospice of the Valley for comforting her in her final days.
A prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at the Holy Trinity Church.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday from at the funeral home.
