LAS VEGAS - Emma Jo Kessman, 88, of Vintage Park Care Facility, passed away peacefully Tuesday Sept. 17, 2013, at Creekside Hospice.
Emma Jo was born April 14, 1925, in Perryopolis, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Jacob Palonder.
A 1943 graduate of Perry Township High School, Emma Jo was a homemaker and a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Warren. She especially enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending quality time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Frank T. Kessman, whom she married May 3, 1947, passed away Aug. 28, 2007.
Emma Jo will be sadly missed and her memories will be cherished by her son, Thomas B. (Margaret) Kessman of Las Vegas; her daughter, Christine E. (Gary) Ulam of Cortland; one brother, Victor Palonder of Crystal River, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Hoffman of Niles and Dorothy Tomajko of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Sean (Sedra) Kessman, Matthew (Kelly) Kessman, Jeffrey (Janna) Kessman, Joshua (Danielle) Ulam, Juliana Ulam and Jennifer Ulam; and five great-grandchildren, Blaine, Elizabeth, Tyler, Logan and Jayden Kessman.
Besides her parents and husband, Emma Jo was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Palonder; and three sisters, Barbara Rumancik, Agnas Grosso and Mary Stewart.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road N.E., Warren, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, in Emma Jo's name.
