GIRARD - Robert Adovasio, 61, of Girard, passed away Tuesday evening, Sept. 10, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a long illness.
Bob was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Youngstown, the son of Louis C. and Anne Melko Adovasio.
He was a member of the Girard High School graduating class of 1970. Bob owned and operated Adovasio's Arco & Amoco Service Station in Liberty and also the Amoco in Girard.
He enjoyed ham radio and was a member of the Girard Men's Democratic Club.
Bob is survived by his mother, Anne E. Adovasio of Girard; four brothers, Michael J. Adovasio of Girard, Louis J. Adovasio of Girard, William D. (Anna) Adovasio of Hubbard and Mark D. (Rosemary Bruno) Adovasio of Austintown; four sisters, Ellen J. Adovasio of Girard, Linda J. Adovasio of Niles, Susan M. Adovasio of Warren and Patricia A. (Christopher) Streamo of Niles; a nephew, William I. Adovasio of Hubbard; a niece, Laura A. (Jeremy) Elliott of Hubbard; and great-nephews Caleb and Collin Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis C. Adovasio, and his brother, Charles L. Adovasio.
It was Bob's wish not to have calling hours. All are invited to Bob's funeral Mass 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Church.
Burial will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
