WARREN - Carol Lee McCleery, 66, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Warren, the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Sadlier.
She was a graduate of Howland High School and received her bachelor's degree from Kent State. She was a teacher for the Warren City Schools for 36 years.
Carol enjoyed reading and scrapbooking. She loved her son and husband and was a mother to anyone who needed her. Her wit and sense of humor made her a joy in the lives of her students, family and friends. Her travels led to many of the places she had read of during her life.
Carol is survived by her husband, Tom, whom she married Aug. 11, 1977; a son, Robert T. McCleery of Warren; and grandchildren, Riley, Mark and Elizabeth McCleery.
She will be deeply missed by her best friend, Jane Thomas, as well as other friends and colleagues too numerous to mention. Her pets Tippy, Cinder and Page brought great joy to her life. The McCleery family would like to express a special thank-you to Gina Rice and June Readshaw for all their loving care.
Per Carol's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
The family requests contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League in her memory.
Arrangements are entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
