CORTLAND - Heather A. Clark, 87, of Cortland, entered peacefully into eternal rest at 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at her residence with her family following a lengthy illness.
Heather was born the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Groom Williams on Aug. 21, 1926, in Norwich, England, and came to the United States in 1946.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Warren and enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. She also was a member of the Trans Atlantic Brides Association, which she referred to as her English club.
In 1962, Heather was united into marriage with Carl Clark and had shared 51 years together, until his passing June 7, 2012.
Her memory will be celebrated by those she dearly leaves behind, sons Robert (Jo) Clark and Carl W. (Karrie) Clark, both of Cortland; daughters Barbara J. (Larry) Sprockett of Cortland and Elizabeth (William) Zaben of Vienna; brothers John (Carol) Williams of England and Barrie (Kim) Williams of Canada; sister Anita (David) Wills of England; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Clark; and a brother, Trever Williams.
Private family services will be held, and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in the Christ Episcopal Columbarium.
Friends will be received for a gathering and dinner 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Christ Episcopal Church.
