GIRARD - Sharla Renee' Ranttila, 34, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2013, following a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Mercer County, Pa.
Sharla was born May 19, 1979, in Warren, a daughter of William A. and Kristina M. Eversole Ranttila.
She was a 1997 graduate of Girard High School and attended The Ohio State University. She had earned an associate degree and was currently enrolled at Kent State University at Trumbull pursuing her bachelor's degree.
Sharla was well known for her creativity, generosity and sense of humor. She was very artistic, enjoyed decorating and loved music, particularly the Beatles.
Sharla was extremely devoted to her family, who will miss her immensely.
Surviving are her loving father, William A. Ranttila, with whom she made her home; her adoring sister, Dr. Nicole M. Ranttila of Cleveland; and a brother, Daniel T. Ranttila of Lady's Island, S.C.
Sharla was preceded in death by her mother, Kristina M. Ranttila, who died March 13, 2011; and her grandparents, including Thelma Eversole, to whom she was very close.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 1090 E. State St., Sharon. A Celebration of Life service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage, Pa.
