ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Martin "Matt" Matyas, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Warren, the son of Mike and Maria Hrinko Matyas.
Martin served in the U.S. Air Force and became a skilled picture framer following retirement.
Survivors include his wife, the former Aubrey Jean Savage; three sons, Dave, Mike and Greg; a daughter, Lisa; two sisters, Dorothy Ruberto of Warren and Mary Rufo of St. Petersberg, Fla.; two brothers, John of Warren and George of Banning, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Douglas.
Inurnment will take place 3 p.m. Friday in Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Following will be a celebration of life from 5 to 8 p.m. at Viking Hall.
