LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Aaron M. Dixon, 47, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Warren, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013.
He was born May 10, 1966, in Warren, the first son of Ossie V. Gilliam Dixon and the late Stanley D. Dixon Sr.
Aaron graduated from Warren Western Reserve in 1984 and immediately joined the U.S. Army.
After serving his country, Aaron owned and operated Dixon Trucking Co. He went on to drive trucks for various companies, including Werner, Exxon, Conway and Hills Petroleum.
Harley-Davidson had a special place in his heart. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and tinkering with his cars and bikes.
Aaron never met someone he could not hold a conversation with. He was a man with a true heart of gold, always offering positive advice and never too busy to offer a helping hand.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Ossie Dixon, with whom he made his home in Lakewood, Colo.; son, Chad (Nina) Dixon of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Vanessa Dixon of Las Vegas; sister, Jennifer Dixon Cunningham of Columbus; brothers, Stanley D. (Pete) Dixon Jr. of Columbus and William R. Dixon of Heath; six grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; one great-niece; not to mention many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two best friends since the day they met ("True Homeboys" from the "Wood"), S. Jerome Ferbee and William "Tweety" Code.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents who loved and adored him, Coleman and Ossie Griffin Gilliam and Eldridge and Jennie Jones Dixon.
A celebration of life will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Todd Crossing, 1330 Blakely Circle, Warren.
