COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - Stephen Frederick Hunkus, 57, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at his residence.
Born July 20, 1956, in Warren, he was the son of Peter William Hunkus and Adelaide Margaret Boeving Hunkus.
He was employed by Murphy Oil Corp. as senior vice president of refinery and retail, and he was a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and biomedical engineering.
Stephen enjoyed golf, spending time with his children and building model ships and trains.
He was previously employed by Shell Oil Co., United Refinery, Mapco, Kinder Morgan and River Consulting.
He was a member of Kinsman United Presbyterian Church.
His remaining loved ones include two sons, Christian Hunkus and Griffin Hunkus, both of Collierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Victoria Hunkus of Minneapolis; former wife, Cynthia Hunkus of Collierville, Tenn.; brothers, Peter Hunkus of Kinsman and Michael Hunkus of Ocala, Fla.; and sister, Darrae Shoenberger of Ann Arbor, Mich.
Preceding him in death was his father.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., Kinsman, with the Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery in Vernon.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Baumgardner Funeral and Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.
