WARREN - Ila Vere Germek, 80, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
She was born April 12, 1933, in Cleveland, the daughter of George H. and Norene G. Sweet Pugh, and resided in the Chardon area, moving to Warren in the late 1990s.
She was the owner of the Olden Dayes Shoppe, an antique shop in Chardon, for many years. She enjoyed collecting antiques, reading, sewing and making dolls and doll clothes. She also enjoyed the company of her two beloved cats, Shadow and Misty.
Ila Vere is survived by her husband of 57 years, William M. "Bill" Germek; son, Richard Germek; three grandchildren, Jeff (Colette) Germek, Chris (Beth) Germek and Megan Germek; great-grandson, Cameron James Germek; an expected great-granddaughter due this week, Evelyn Ila Vere Germek; sister-in-law, Sally Pugh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Germek; sister, Donna Bowman; and brother, Robert Pugh.
According to her wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service.
