BAZETTA - Fernando Bogard, 57, died at 9:57 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, following surgery at The Cleveland Clinic.
Fernando was born Jan. 31, 1956, in Mexico City, the second son of Marcos Bogard Fernandez and Ana Maria Sierra Silva.
Fernando received a degree in electrical engineering at the Instituto Politecnico in Mexico City. He worked as a chef in California and in Ohio.
He was owner / operator of Quiznos Sub and had worked for The Tribune Chronicle.
Fernando was a devoted and loyal husband and father, a follower of Jesus and an unselfish human being.
He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
Fernando leaves his wife, Valerie Vincent Bogard, whom he married Oct. 6, 1984. He also is greatly missed by his three sons, Mark, Matthew and Adam Bogard, all at home.
His seven siblings in Mexico are greatly saddened by his death. They include five brothers, Sergio (Delia) Bogard, Miguel Bogard, Raul Bogard, Mauricio Bogard and Francisco "Paco" Bogard, all of Mexico City; and two sisters, Lourdes (Abraham) Bogard Armijo of Monterrey and Ana Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" (Raul) Bogard Picardo of Mexico City. Fernando also leaves many nieces and nephews in Mexico as well as in Ohio.
He leaves a brother-in-law, Kenneth Vincent Jr. of Dayton; as well as eight sisters-in-law, which include Elizabeth Grubb of Leavittsburg, Mary Lou Robbins of Santa Maria, Calif., Doris Berg (Gordon) of Garrettsville, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Vincent Deutsch of Kinsman, Viola Koehnlein of Niles, Rosalie Vincent of Warren, Theresa Vincent of Cleveland and Sue Vincent Ensor of Niles.
His parents preceded him in death.
