HOWLAND - Don Lewis Jarvis, 74, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima.
He was born Sept. 12, 1938 in Indiana County, Pa., the son of Carl Lewis and Zelma K. "Sally" Lamer Jarvis. He had been a lifetime Howland resident.
Don was a 1956 graduate of Howland High School. He then worked with his Dad at Jarvis' Auto Repair in Howland for 20 years and also operated Jarvis Auto Body. He retired in 2000 as the transportation and operations supervisor for Howland Local Schools, where he worked for 37 years.

Don loved restoring classic and antique cars and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Diane.
He is survived by his wife, Diane S. Drengacs Jarvis, whom he married Feb. 14, 1981; two daughters, Carrie A. (Rick) Kossler of Columbus and E. Colleen (Angelo) Fakkas of Howland; three sons, Donald L. Jarvis of Warren, Corey L. (Joyce) Jarvis of Canfield and Travis B. (Leann) Stewart of Somerset, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Jarvis and Carol A. (Dennis) Hamilton both of Howland and a sister-in-law, Lynn Jarvis of Howland.
One brother, Carl D. "Butch" Jarvis preceded him in death.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, where the memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Jack Ruble will officiate. Per Don's wishes, cremation was held and burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
