HERMITAGE, Pa. - James Russell Glaser, 81, died at 4:53 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, in the Intensive Care Unit of Sharon Regional Health System.
He was born May 7, 1932, in West Middlesex, Pa., the son of Carl and Gladys Metz Glaser.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Ribbon.
He had worked for Shenango Valley Water Company and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon.
Survivors include his wife, Palma Testani Glaser; a son, David A. Glaser of Cortland; two daughters, Karen L. Glaser of Sharon and Carla J. Glaser of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronald Glaser of Hubbard, Dale Glaser of Sharon, William Glaser of Harrisburg and Robert Glaser of Indian Trail, N.C.; and two sisters, Sally Dufford of Hermitage and Carol Glaser of West Middlesex.
He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter and a brother.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., Sharon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, Sharon. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday for the church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
