LAURELVILLE - David E. Wack, 84, of Laurelville, formerly Warren, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Cortland, to the late Phillip and Anna Hoperick Wack.
Dave retired from General Motors after many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also retired from the National Guard. He was a marksman and very knowledgeable about guns.
He was a member of the Nicholas Drive Church of God in Circleville, the UAW Local and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mildred Hazel Sturgell Wack; stepsons Donald Tarter of Sun Valley, Calif., and John Tarter of Tampa, Fla.; special nephews and nieces Kenny (Cortney Odle) Cookson of Ashville, Joe Endrizzi (fiancee Melissa Crosby) of Circleville, Sue (Bud) Pringle of New Waterford, Linda Endrizzi of Negley and Terry (Elizabeth) Coffel of Circleville; brothers-in-law Herbert Sturgell of Circleville and Jeff Sturgell of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews; all of his brothers and sisters in Christ; and special church friends Keith and Verdie Williams and Jim and Mary Ferrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Phillip and Richard; a sister, Marjorie Tacken; and a brother-in-law, Sandy Sturgell.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. today in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Military service will be provided by AMVETS Post 2256.
