The Penguins didn't waste any time finding a possible replacement after Dale Peterman was indefinitely suspended Wednesday.
DeVon McKoy, a Bowling Green State University transfer, joined YSU on Wednesday. The 5-10, 180-pound McKoy made seven starts as a freshman and played in all 11 games last year for the Falcons. YSU coach Eric Wolford, who said the addition was purely coincidental, is excited to see what McKoy can do.
"He got his release (from Bowling Green) on Monday, called us up and we've had some good transfers from Bowling Green. So we're excited about that addition," he said.
McKoy, who had 53 career tackles and seven pass breakups in two seasons at BGSU, will be in pads and participating in practice as soon as Friday. Wednesday was the final two-a-day practice for the Penguins.
