LEAVITTSBURG - Millard A. "Buck" Floyd, 85, of Pendleton Road, Leavittsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013. He was surrounded by loved ones when God called him home.
He was born March 18, 1928, in Mannington, W.Va., but lived most of his life in Ohio.
He was part of a large, loving family of four sisters and three brothers.
He worked at Taylor Winfield Co. for 55 years until he retired. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Niles.
He loved bowling, fishing and hunting, and was an avid Ohio sports fan. He loved going to church and spending time with his friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lari J. Floyd of the home; his son, Michael Floyd of California; daughter and caregiver, Sherrie McHenry (Kevin Taylor) of the home; daughter, Nicole (Larry) Peoples of Kimbolton; son-in-law, Terry Cox of the home; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Marisa, Mark, Sarah, Bethany, Natasha, Nathaniel and Dustyn; and two great-grandchildren. He was loved by so many and will be missed always.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Floyd, and his loving daughter, Jacquelyn Cox.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. Friday with services following at 11 a.m. at Selby Funeral Home's Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. The family asks that attendees please join family and friends afterward to celebrate the life of Buck at Praise Cathedral Church of God, 608 Iowa Ave., Niles.
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
