WILMINGTON, N.C. - Minnie Zeno, 97, formerly of Warren, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday evening, July 31, 2013, in Wilmington, N.C.
She was born Nov. 27, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Philip and Maria Amarinta DiSabatino.
She came to Warren in 1934 and moved to North Carolina in 2005.
Minnie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren and St. Jude Church in Hemstead, N.C.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Minnie loved life and her family. She loved playing cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed by her family and friends and her new friends at Davis Community (Champions) in Wilmington, N.C.
Minnie is survived by her two sons, Robert (Shirley) of Jupiter, Fla., and Richard (Virginia) of Leland, N.C; a brother, George DiSabatino of Chicago; a sister, Florence Russell of Chicago; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Zeno, whom she married July 28, 1934; three sisters, Rosylan, Sadie and Ann; and three brothers, Bennie, Dom and Augie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, in Warren, where the family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
