Area gasoline prices
fall a dime this week
Northeast Ohio gas prices fell 10 cents this week to $3.503 per gallon of regular unleaded, according to AAA.
Tuesday's national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $3.62 per gallon, falling 5 cents since last week. With just two days remaining in July, the national average has jumped 14 cents since last month.
Motorists in 44 states are paying less at the pump than one week ago. Weekly declines were most dramatic in the Midwest, including three states where prices fell by more than a dime. That includes Ohio, which dropped 12 cents.
Local financial stocks reported steady
First Niles Financial held steady in trading Tuesday, closing at $8.49 a share. First Place Financial Corp. rose to $0.0040 per share. Cortland Bancorp rose 40 cents to close at $10 a share.
