Police investigate Saturday shooting
YOUNGSTOWN - Police continue to investigate a Saturday shooting that wounded one man here.
William McClain, 39, was found by police lying in the street about 11 p.m. along East High Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing what sounded like a fight just prior to the gunshots, reports said.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found an SUV near the victim parked awkwardly with several bullet holes in it.
Police said late Sunday that they had spoken to several witnesses but had not made any arrests.
McClain was taken to an area hospital.
Mahoning County blitz numbers released
CANFIELD - The Mahoning County OVI Task Force has released numbers from its Friday night blitz.
According to a release, officers assigned to the detail made 41 traffic stops, resulting in one OVI arrest, two summons for driving under suspension, one citation for a red light violation, one citation for improper start, and one citation for traveling outside of marked lanes.
One driver failed to stop. This resulted in a chase and a charge of felony fleeing and eluding, and a citation for possession of marijuana.
The blitz was conducted by seven officers between 11 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday. It focused on state Route 224.
Warren ward meeting to address flooding issues
WARREN - Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold will hold a 6th Ward meeting at 6 p.m. today at Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries Church, 763 Hoyt St.
Warren officials will attend to speak about the recent flooding situation and how it can be fixed, she said.
