LISBON - A Boardman man has been indicted on charges he killed his ex-girlfriend in her Salem home.
Mason M. Feisel, 34, Afton Avenue, Boardman, is charged in the death of his former girlfriend Samatha Shasteen, who was found early in the morning on June 5 in her bathtub with visible head trauma. An autopsy conducted in Summit County would later reveal the cause of death to be manual strangulation.
After Shasteen's body was discovered by her father, Feisel fled the garage, where he had reportedly been sleeping with the doors down, the vehicle running and a hose and sock laying next to the exhaust.
He was soon found by police hiding in the bushes and trees in a neighboring yard. When he was located, Feisel had reportedly been cutting his arms with a piece of glass. He had told police he wanted to harm himself, but refused to cooperate much in the investigation about what had happened to Shasteen.
