AAA: Local gasoline
prices drop 6 cents
While the national average for regular unleaded gasoline is up 3 cents this week, northeast Ohio motorists are enjoying a 6 cent dip in price, according to AAA Motorists Club.
Northeast Ohio prices averaged $3.603 per gallon of regular unleaded this week, the auto club reported. Nationwide, the average is $3.67 per gallon. That's 3 cents more than a week ago, 9 cents more than a month ago and 20 cents more than the same day last year.
Higher crude oil prices have meant a rising tide for gasoline prices. Beginning July 3, West Texas Intermediate crude oil settled above $100 each trading, including a 16-month high of $108.05 per barrel last July 19.
