Sunfest returns Sunday to Mill Creek MetroParks.
The centerpiece of the annual event is the sand sculpture contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Teams can purchase a one-ton pile of sand and have three hours to shape that pile into whatever they want. The entry fee is $8, and piles of sand can be reserved by calling 330-740-7107.
Sunfest starts with a nine-hole Closest to the Pin contest at the Mill Creek Golf Course from 8 a.m. to noon. Prizes will be awarded for each hole, and the cost is $5.
Zumba Fest - open dance sessions for all skill levels - will be offered from 9:45 to 11 a.m., and a hike of nearby nature trails will start at 11 a.m.
Free activities will be offered for children from noon to 3 p.m., and a craft project also will be available during that time for a $2 fee.
The day concludes with a free concert by the classic rock cover group The HouseBand starting at 6 p.m. in the Judge Morley Pavilion.
Admission for Sunfest is free. For more information, call 330-702-3000.
