Tue 12:20 p.m.: Company withdraws protest over bid

WARREN - A Painesville company has withdrawn its protest over the rejection of its bid to build a new emergency operations center for Trumbull County.

Lakeland Management Systems Inc. had a hearing set for today, but withdrew its protest Monday in a letter to county commissioners.

Lakeland had wanted commissioners to reverse there decision and award it the contract, rather than the Murphy Contracting Co. Inc. of Youngstown, which won the contract, but with a slightly higher proposal.
