Tribune Chronicle |

NILES - A 65-year-old Mason Street man was being held in lieu of $100,000 after his initial appearance today in Niles Municipal Court, where not guilty pleas were entered in his behalf to 25 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

William F. Brock Sr., 832 Mason, was scheduled to appear again at a preliminary hearing July 29 before Judge Thomas Townley.

Brock, whom some in the neighborhood referred to as "Santa" was led from the house Friday afternoon shirtless, sporting a long white beard and red sweatpants after a raid at his home.

The raid was conducted by Niles police, state Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification and the FBI.

Brock's son and wife were not charged after the raid.

Neighbors said boxes and computers were removed from the two-story house by authorities.
