LORDSTOWN - General Motors officials are remaining mum on when the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze will be launched, despite an article published today in a national business publication saying the project is being delayed a year.
"We have never released a date. We have never committed the time frame for the launch publicly or to our internals," said Annalisa Bluhm, GM's corporate spokeswoman for matters involving the Chevy Cruze.
Bluhm's comments came in response to an article published today by Reuters stating that the next generation Lordstown-built Cruze now is expected to be launched in December 2015 for the 2016 model year. The publication stated that the launch of the retooled model previously had been set for December 2014 for the 2015 model year.
