City man found dead inside car at his home
WARREN - City police initiated a death investigation on Friday after the body of an elderly man was discovered in the garage of his North Park Avenue home.
Warren police Lt. Jeff Cole, who was at the scene, said investigators do not suspect foul play but are waiting for the results of a coroner's investigation before making a final determination.
Police said a neighbor found the man's body in his car.
Meet-the-chief event planned for Warren
WARREN - A 'Meet the New Police Chief' event will be held Monday at First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave. The event, sponsored by the city of Warren and ACTION Inc., will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Organizers said the event will provide an opportunity for discussion related to new initiatives, thoughts and ideas that will be introduced by Warren's new police chief, Eric Merkel.

HARTFORD - Township trustees will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the township hall to act on a police levy and to meet with Front Runner Seismic.
Bristol school board to act on bond issue
BRISTOL - The Bristol Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Monday at the board offices to act on a bond issue it wants to place on the ballot to raise the local share for a planned new high school.
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission this week approved funding about $8.8 million of the $13.9 million project if Bristol can raise the other $5. 1 million.
The district is one of 19 from across the state that received an offer of funding from the commission, which oversees the state's school facility renovation and construction program.
The board may also hold an executive session on personnel.
