HOWLAND -- Two people were injured, one with a head wound, when two motorcycles collided Thursday night at the intersection of North Road and Crestview Drive.

Several eyewitnesses said that at about 10 p.m., two motorcycles heading north on North Road were turning left onto Crestview when one of the motorcycles collided with another motorcycle heading south on North Road.

Roger Swegan, owner of Fat Roger's Drive Thru at the intersection, saw the accident and said he took plastic wrap from the store to wrap around the head of one of the drivers to help stop the bleeding.

Initial reports claimed that he was not wearing a helmet.

One driver was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital and the other St. Joseph Health Center.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Howland police were investigating. Names of the drivers and their conditions were not available.

Motorcycles could be seen lying on their sides in the middle of the road with damage. Gasoline could also be smelled.
