Tue 3:18 p.m.: Firefighters battle two blazes in Warren

WARREN - Firefighters here today fought two blazes, including one at a home that was being renovated.

Fire chief Ken Nussle said crews were called to 490 Maple St. S.W. shortly before 4:30 a.m. for a fire that began in the kitchen of the home, which is being improved. The cause of the fire that caused an estimated $15,000 damage is being investigated.

Then at around 1 p.m., firefighters put out a fire in the basement of a vacant home at 715 Webb Court S.W. Nussle said the someone had been spotted in the basement before the fire broke out in the home, which is on the city's condemned list.
