Fri 11:15 am: Four fires hit three communities

WARREN - Fire crews in several communities were busy fighting flames this morning.

No injuries have been reported and damage estimates are not yet available. All of the fires are under investigation.

In Warren, firefighters were called to battle two blazes at two different homes. Officials said both fires were contained quickly.

Firefighters were first called around 2:48 a.m. to 605 Sidells Court N.E. Later, around 3:12 a.m. the responded to a fire at 209 Washington N.W.

Firefighters in Liberty were called to a fire at a vacant apartment complex on Naylor Lloyd Road, just off State Route 193. Firefighters allowed the vacant building, which had been vacant for several years, burn.

Youngstown firefighters also this morning battled a fire at a vacant house on the city's South Side.

The fire erupted just after midnight in the 500 block of Alexander Street, close to Poland Avenue in Youngstown.

Thick smoke billowed out the first floor windows and porch. Neighbors said the house has been empty for some time.
