CORTLAND - Kathleen A. Kay, 66, died peacefully Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Laurie Ann Nursing Home.
She was born July 15, 1946, in Warren, the daughter of the late Frederick and Christine Roman Meredith.
Kathleen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a founding member of S.O.P.H.I.A. (Stop One Place Help is Available Inc.) and volunteered her time freely to assist the less fortunate. In that capacity she served as treasurer, volunteer, interviewer and registrar and was a signer for their Articles of Incorporation. She was also a member of Morning Light Chapter #80, Order of the Eastern Star and the Ali Baba Grotto Auxiliary.
Memories of Kathleen will be carried on by son, Robert A. (Wendy) Kay of Petersburg, Mich., daughter, Rebecca (Alfred) Rasmussen of South Whitley, Ind.; grandchildren: Gillian, Heather, Shannon, Paul, Joshua, Elizabeth and Patrick; great-grandchildren: Landon and Lilly; and sister Theresa (Henry) Percich of Newton Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Kay, and son, Steven Kay.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren, and again one hour prior to the service. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. with the Rev. Cowden of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Services of final committal will follow at a later date at Howland Township.
