Wed. 6:12pm: Lipton workers OK pact; headed back to work Monday

AUSTINTOWN - After little more than a week on the picket line outside a Victoria Road beverage distributor, striking Teamsters voted today to ratify a labor contract and head back to work.

Teamsters Local 377 president Rich Sandberg said union members and management at R.L. Lipton Distributing Company met Tuesday with a mediator, then members voted today to end the nine-day work stoppage. They will return to work Monday, he said.
