YOUNGSTOWN - A Newton Falls man charged with running a bath salts operation is free on bond.

Ryan Kralik, 32, of Newton Falls, was released on bond today following a detention hearing in federal court. Also charged was Ruth Eimers, 36, of Ravenna, who was given a bond.

The pair has been charged with an assortment of drug charges related to the distribution of the substances. Bath salts is a term for a class of designer drugs that are similar in effect to cocaine and amphetamine.

Kralik and Eimers each pleaded not guilty during initial court appearances last week in Akron following a raid at an on East Church Street home that Kralik rented.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Teresa Dirksen is prosecuting the case.
