LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Anthony Robert "Tony D" Dorantich, 47, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., after a very long illness.
Anthony was born June 30, 1965, in Marion, Ind., the son of Paul R. Dorantich and Ruth A. Grayson Barrs. He grew up in Newton Falls, graduating in 1983.
He started as a production manager with Blue Ridge Paper products in Cleveland for five years and several other companies as his health would permit. He moved to Lincolnton with his mother for the past four years.
Tony D loved to fish, loved baseball and loved watching sports on TV. He was a prolific writer.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth A. Barrs of Lincolnton; his father and stepmother, Paul (Joanna) Dorantich of Salem; his brother, Jonathan Dorantich of Tall Timbers, Md.; and his twin brother Timothy (Justine) Dorantich of Newton Falls.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Warren Barrs, and two brothers, Joey and Bobby Dorantich.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls with the Rev. Arnold Edmondson officiating.
