CORTLAND - James K. Jervis, 73, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1940, in Warren, a son of the late A. Kenneth and Frances Louise Guesman Jervis.
He married Shirley Mitchell on Aug. 22, 1964.
Mr. Jervis was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and owned and operated Frontier Installations for more than 30 years. Jim learned the trade from his father, who founded Warren Tile and Carpeting Co. in 1952. He received awards for his involvement with the Trumbull County Courthouse and Law Library Historical restoration. He also won the Golden Trowel award for his work at New Castle High School and Junior High School project.
James enjoyed hunting, golfing and was an avid fisherman.
Memories of James will be carried on by his wife, Shirley Mitchell Jervis of Cortland; son, Sean Jervis of Cortland; daughter, Laura (Thomas) Thornton of Florida; and grandson, Jeremy Thornton of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlene Monteneri.
