WARREN - Chris and Tonya Mullenax said they couldn't be happier with their new home.
The Mullenax family was presented the keys to the one-story home at 1834 Union St. S.W., during a recent dedication by Trumbull County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
The Rev. Brian Byrne, president of the local chapter, said this is the 45th family Habitat has helped over the years. The former vacant home was remodeled and upgraded by volunteers and the Mullenax family.
"We couldn't wait to get in it. We love it," said Tonya Mullenax.
The home has three bedrooms - which will benefit the family of four which includes two teenagers, Samantha and Chris.
Byrne said he has known the Mullenax family through Howland Community Church and knows this is a special event for them.
"We are excited for them. We give them special blessings and celebrate this big step they are taking in their lives," he said.
Tonya Mullenax said the children were very excited to be able to move into the home.
John Garland, project manager, said Habitat has dedicated two homes on the city's southwest side this year and is working on a third home.
